2 Corinthians 4:16-18 says, "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are acheiving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Life is crazy. As a teenager there is so much to do and too little time to do it. Yes, some teenagers are lazy bums and sit on the couch all day (which is great for those that do that), but I am the complete opposite. I'm a busy-body. Always finding something to do and not having much down time. This can make life very stressful at times, which is not very good, but I love staying busy. There is always something to do, places that can have improvement, more activities to get involved in, and new areas to explore. Yes, I love almost everything. But in a life and country consumed with busyness, what can one do to stay energized? In verse 16 of the passage above, Paul writes about being "renewed day by day." What does that look like for you and me? For me, it means that I need to make sure to continue every day to spend time with my Lord, away from distractions and focused on Him so that I can be reenergized for the coming day. For you, it might mean you need to make time to do devotions. Maybe you need to find a special time in your day to just stop and take a deep breath and remember Him. For some, it might mean spending every morning in the shower in prayer or playing a peaceful worship song before bed. Whatever way spiritually renews you, do it! Being peaceful and calm can be a blessing to others in a world with frazzled and stressed people. Today, in what way will you find spiritual renewal and be a blessing?
